I have over 20 years experience as a kindergarten & first grade teacher, in both ESL and mainstream classrooms. I am fluent in Spanish and lived in Ecuador for 5 years, teaching at an international school. I have run after-school Spanish clubs for grades 1-3. I have experience with many different teaching strategies and programs. I am interested in tutoring because I love to see "the lightbulb moments;" I connect with all types of students; I like to work with families to improve each child's learning and I believe that every child can learn with the right support.

I love to read mysteries, historical fiction, fiction by international authors, or any novel that introduces me to a time or place I have not experienced. I am a photographer. I photograph people, nature and places. I love the art of composition. I have recently discovered the joy of gardening. I have a dog, who I enjoy walking with around the neighborhood and in local nature spots.
