I am currently a high school ESL and English teacher in central Massachusetts and a 3-4 grade summer school teacher in Brookline, MA. I love with working with all ages on language, reading, and writing skills. I graduated with my BA in English from JMU as well as received my Masters in Secondary Education. I have previously tutored middle school students in Harrisonburg, Va was a practicum teacher in Rockingham County Va and Rome, Italy, and have coached youth field hockey and lacrosse in Philadelphia. My teaching experiences range from 6th-11th grade English/ Language Arts classes. I think that students that are struggling need to feel comfortable with their tutor to ask questions and get the one-on-one attention that is sometimes lacking in large classes. I am very easy going and pretty laid back which makes for a comfortable learning environment. I would like the opportunity to continue using the skills that I have learned in my education, and reading and writing classes to help students that may be struggling in their classes or just need extra help or reinforcement. I have learned different ways to introduce information to students and present it in ways that can be more accessible and relevant to all students.
